We've had a growth spurt in 2010. We here at Witchy Poo know that it is not with out YOU our blog reviewers, our fans, our friends, loyal customers, and never ending supporters that we keep going and growing.

In 2011 we look forward to more growth, new products, and some changes in our branding. This is really nothing new. We've always set out to look better and keep consistent quality in our products without costing a fortune. This is our Philosophy, and as we grow, we want our friends, fans, and biggest supporters to know that this this is "an ever fixed mark" as they say in Shakespeare. We will always try to bring you effective, high quality,and good smelling skin care. We will always be Tested on Friends, Not Animals, and we will always help you to create a day spa experience at home in 20 minutes.

Pretty in Queen City

It’s been said you learn something new every day. I believe in this old adage. For instance, I would have never known that Charlotte North Carolina is called the Queen City unless I Googled it. I can almost say for sure, that I wouldn’t have gone to Google to find out what “Pretty in the Queen City” meant, if it hadn’t been for Amelia Keith, beauty blogger, Charlotte, NC.
Here’s what Wikepidia had to say about Amelia’s town…Nicknamed the Queen City, Charlotte and the county containing it are named in honor of the German Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg, who had become queen consort of British King George III the year before the city's founding. I had no idea. I need to brush up on my Jeopardy questions, obviously! Learn something new everyday.

I was recently approached by Dana Willard by email to feature Tropical Voodoo Spritzer in her blog MADE at dana-made-it.com. I liked the idea because she's a fan of Witchy Poo, so I thought she would probably write something nice. This is good. Rebekah King of the SCHB asked me to write a small blog for our last group mixer at the Beauty Collection at the Old Farmer’s Market, in West Hollywood, California. I am not the greatest blogger, but I can sincerely express how much I benefit from this kind of meet and greet. I always have a great time, meet someone new, and gain helpful information to help grow and further my business. This is at every mixer I’ve attended, and I try to make them all.
This one was called Killer Merchandising, need I say more? The Beauty Collection is a big space with all of the best brands in the beauty care in the industry. It seemed when talking to the people that came to this killer mixer, most had been in there before shopping, at least once. I think this is because it not only has great brands, but good merchandising. It’s clean, tidy, and has “zones” to help the shopper find everything they need and more. I every one of us, in the beauty industry appreciates this about Shawn Tavaoki’s Beauty Collection (He has two other locations—Calabasas and Tarzana).
For the benefit of the group, as we had wine and light snack, we had the opportunity to take a tour. We were given a map, and we followed the signs. Hanging signs marking Zone1 through Zone 4 marked the areas of significance, and the map had a write up and explanation for each Zone. Walking through I learned a lot about what makes good merchandising in a store, what keeps a customer’s attention, and how to help avoid the “Dead Zone”. I learned that things like signage, pricing and testers are the difference between making the sale and loosing the customer. All of this while enjoying a little food, drink and great chat with friends.
I always meet someone of interest at these mixers too. Once or twice, I’ve even met old associates, and it’s great to be reconnected with them through this kind of venue. I love Linked In and SCHB! At this mixer, I met Jennifer of Klean Body Care, for the first time. She was very nice, and we had a lot to share and relate about our businesses. She has a lot of great ideas about products and fragrances, and shared her experience openly. It was truly nice to meet her. I also got a chance to reconnect with Maria, who I have not seen in a long time. She is still in upper management at the Beauty Collection, helping Shawn continue to thrive there in West Hollywood. It always makes me feel like I’m in the right place when I see friends, and continue to meet interesting people. It was a nice evening. I can’t wait for the next opportunity to mix and merchandise!

Super Cute Shoes, and VIP Service at Sole Sisters

I stopped in Sole Sisters in July, when I was visiting friends in Royal Oak, Michigan from L.A. Living in Los Angeles, gives me very fun and good weather taste in clothes and shoes. Sole Sisters has everything a girl could look for in shoe selection. Their handbags are ultra cute and easy and the accessories are really great. Plus, they told me that when I come back to visit my girls in Royal Oak, I could plan a special event:)

The girls at Sole Sisters will have a party just for me and my friends. Proper prior planning with the store owner gets me a vip pass, and a discount. I can bring my girlfriends, and get store credit for each purchase my friends make (and friends get a good discount too)! They give you times, and dates to keep it flexible, and provide a sweet treat for all my guests to enjoy. Talk about the ultimate shopping experience...I can't wait! I want to plan my event before the holidays, so I can spread a little good cheer and save on shoes, handbags, and accessories.
One of the fun shopping experiences I'll look forward to when I get back to town.

Great Services at Valentino's Salon & Spa!

How do I LOVE Valentino's Salon & Spa? Let me count the ways! This little sanctuary is clean, comfortable, and provides their clients with some of the best services ever. I can't say enough about their pedicures, they make your feet look and feel great, and last 3 weeks.
Jennifer and Katie Grubbs took over this Glendale establishment a little over 2 years ago, and they turned it into a beautifully decorated Indo-Asian style haven.
They have a full menu of services, including waxing, facials, and full service for hair and nails. Did I mention the pedicure?

The pedi spas are down stairs away from the door, and of course it's the massage and spa tub chairs...my favorite. You can enjoy the latest gossip mag and relax while your feet get treated like royalty. Every luxury step is taken to insure pedi pleasure. Salts are added to the bath for softening. Katie is meticulous about cleaning and trimming cuticles and callouses, so your feet come out baby soft. She follows with salt rub or sugar scrub, you choose, and ends with moisturizing pedi massage, and super polish. Katie claims, "My polishes don't chip" and after having 3 consistent pedicures, I concur. Even if you're someone who is hard on their feet, this polish stays on!
I tried a pedicure somewhere else, and had to get Valentino's fix my polish two days later because of chipping. They were kind enough to give me a mini pedi, and polish change for a very reasonable price. Needless to say that polish change lasted and lasted. Thank you!!

Okay, so I don't LOVE the bikini wax, but if you must suffer, it might as well be with someone who has a technique that gets you through it. It's yoga breathing with your wax. Jennifer has become an expert at the "breathe in and now breath out" as she pulls on the strips. I'm surprised to say this actually works...Jennifer uses only the best wax and finishing products, and her prep is meticulous. I was very happy with the results, and I noticed that I wasn't as red or irritated as I have been at other places. Jennifer also has a wonderful facial too, with custom treatment according your special skin care needs. The rooms are clean, comfortable, quiet and their tables even have temperpedic sponge. Mmmmmm....
Every detail is thought out in this amazingly comfortable, luxurious, yet affordable salon and spa.

We have had the opportunity to meet through cyber space some of the nicest ladies I've come accross in awhile. Lisa and Marta opened a store a couple of months ago called Chubby Robin. Witchy Poo just wants to give these two sisters a shout out because they are doing it right.
Chubby Robin is such cute name for a store, but as it turns out it has so much more than meets the eye. It has a coffee house and bakery attached to their gift shoppe with an array of baked goods, teas, and treats. The shop itself has gifts, candles, and a little section dedicated to all that are a little Witchy Poo! Let's face it the holidays can be stressful. There's no harm in admitting it. No matter how much you love your family, the holidays can be a challenge. You may get time off from work, but there's a huge project due for your boss the minute you get back. You have to travel by plane to see your family, but you hate to fly, and you have to switch planes in Dallas...How do you shop for the Mom who has everything, and thinks you should move home, instead of taking your dream job in a city 2,500 miles away?
